I am trying to get a few more divers together for the afternoon of Saturday October 8th to go out on the Nordic Diver for

• Milwaukee Car ferry ( http://www.nordicdiver.com/carferry.milwaukee.htm )
• Prins Willem ( http://www.nordicdiver.com/willie.htm ) .

I am just a customer of Nordic Diver but really want to get some cool dives in on the last few available weekends this season. For those of you who have never dove the above two ships, these are really cool dives. You won't forget the dive!

Please let Bill Prins or me know if you are interested.

You should be able to dive both these wrecks with an open water cert. The Milwaukee can get deep. If you go down on the bow there is a guide rope that takes you down to the pilot house. It goes off on the port side of the wreck and is just aft of the bow itself if memory serves. The pilot house is a must see and it sits in about 115 fow. Great photo opp if you have a camera along. Otherwise, lots of cool wreckage on the Milwaukee.
The Wille sits on her side and has some epuipment left on her deck. The bridge has been thoroghly stripped by divers over the years, but its worth sticking your head in the window just the same. I'm not saying penetrate the wreck. Unless your trained to do so anyway. Just poke your head in.
Bring a flash light for both dives and be prepared for sub 40 degree water. Two great dives. I'd go myself, but I'll be diving up in Door county this weekend. Dive safe.

I'll be diving on the Enterprise out of Waukegan the same day (10/8) doing an all-day trip, and a half-day the next morning. As it stands now, we have two open slots on the 8th. and four on the 9th. Ping me or Capt. Dale if anyone's interested.

The boat leaves at 2:00pm on Saturday the 8th getting back in the late afternoon. I would agree with Jim that an openwater cert should be fine as long as you did not penetrate and had a few dives under your belt. Technically you should have an Advanced Openwater cert (because of the depth) but its not required. The bottom of the ships sit at around 125-130 fow. There is plenty to look at without going in.

Let Bill or I know if you are interested in going. We still need a couple more divers to make this a go so please let us know as soon as you can.

Since we could not manage to get enough people together for Saturday (10/8) for this dive I decided to book on the Enterprise out of Waukegan. I took Kens suggestion. Sounds like we are doing 4 dives on 3 different wrecks.

See you on the boat Ken. Bright and early 6:30am!

I think he said he was in Vegas when he called me. He said 2 dives on the mack, one on the st mary, one on possibly lady elgin with lunch provided between dives 2 and 3. Sounds like a really good day of diving. So far so good with the weather forcast. I am coming from Aurora so it will be a really early start of the day to make it by 6:30am.

I did pretty much the same dive with Dale a couple of months ago and you're right: it does make for a good day of diving.
Aurora? Stop it, you're breaking my heart. :14: I'm coming from Springfield and my buddy is from St. Louis. We're coming up Friday night.Ya want the good dives, ya gotta take the long drives.

Did you guys end up making the trip in Friday? I hope not. The wave height on noaa were around 6-8ft Friday evening with 10-15 mph winds from the NNW. I figured not a chance of diving Satuday morning with that. I ended up going to Haigh and spending some time in the water getting getting used to the dry suit again.

I am scheduled to try and make Nordic Diver again on Sunday October 16th for an PM dive on the Prins Willem and Milwaukee Car Ferry. I don't think it is a full boat if anyone is interested. I hope the weather does not spoil it again.
