Your post is ridiculous.So you’re suggesting that you’d rather have divers waving poles around the place at fish underwater that they can use to damage the marine environment rather than a compact laser? And all of that because you think divers will point it directly in fish’ eyes? What makes you think that people won’t dig up reefs with poles?

Who said anything about waving poles around or digging up the reef? Certainly not me.
Pointing the laser at fish eyes? Maybe the fish swim into the laser beam? Just how do you point out a fish to your buddy and not point the laser at the fish? Are you so sure you can get the fish to stop moving so you can keep the laser on his side and not inadvertently hit his eye?
Also, put a pointer near a fish and most will quickly move away. But the direction of the pointer shows where to look. But with a laser, you have to see the spot to know where to look.
