It is likely we will be there on a Monday or Tuesday, so the weekend crowd shouldn't be a problem. Alexander sounds like it might be nice, considering my daughter will be with me.

Have you heard of/know anything about King's Spring, which is in King's Bay in Crystal River. I just read something about it in Dive Training and it doesn't look like it is too far from where I'll be.

yes... it's a shallow spring, to about 30 feet. the spring is a rocky hole
on the smallish side, but diveable. there's a manatee statute down there
which is neat to find.

early in the morning, vis can be very good. sometimes you get salt-water species
schooling there... very neat

there is a cave there, which you can enter through two different openings. if
you enter the cave, stay within sight of the exit. the cave goes down to
about 50 feet, i believe.
