Dive Specialist (Sales Expert) at West Marine

As the Dive Specialist at West Marine North Palm Beach, your primary responsibility is to drive customer awareness about West Marine's dive shop in the retail setting:
• Engage customers --some of whom have never thought about diving before!
• Support the sale of SCUBA diving products and certification courses.
• Maintain West Marine's dive inventory and visual merchandising efforts to our national standard.
• Cross train other retail Associates about West Marine's Dive Program.
Potential candidates should have a professional level certification with a recognized agency and experience SCUBA diving, freediving and spearfishing.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience gained through dive store retail experience and 2 or more years of SCUBA diving, freediving and/or spear fishing experience.
This role will not teach dive classes, but rather drive the growth of our Dive Program at West Marine.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
• 2 years dive store retail experience
• 2 years freediving, SCUBA diving and spearfishing experience (Professional level certified SCUBA diver (SSI, PADI, etc.)
• Prior work in a retail setting and a love of diving are key attributes of the successful candidate.
• Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to best perform the administrative tasks of this position.
The role requires flexible scheduling to meet Customer needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
This position typically reports to the Store Manager or General Manager.
