I am planning a Vacatioin to Antigua this month and would like to know which dive shop i should partner with. We are looking for 5 days of 2 dives/day. Beginner level divers.
Thanks-

If you are in the south, I would recommend Mamora Bay Divers. They are located at the Saint James Club Resort. We were very happy when we did our diving with them.

Thanks for the quick reply. We are planning to stay at the Cocos Hotel. I'm not sure if that is North or South.

Jolly Dive and Indigo Dive are both in Jolly Harbour, just down the beach from where you will be staying.

I go to Antigua frequently - and stay in Jolly Harbour - so I'll warn you up front, the diving isn't great there. I'll dive in a mud puddle here in NJ just to get wet, but I don't even bring my gear to Antigua anymore. I would honestly say that you shouldn't bother trying to go out for five days. You'll be lucky to find an OP going out more than a handful of dives each week because the demand is so low. Maybe that's just in Jolly Harbour area.

Are you on the meal plan at Coco's? If not I can give you restaurant recommendations...

I would tend to agree with RJP. Diving was a nice diversion for a couple of days and kept us out of the sun for a bit. Not a place to go to specifically to dive.

Mamora is open daily and does go out with two. The thing is, you'd have to get down there by taxi.

Thanks for the tips guys. Since i am still in the planning stage (very last minute i know) maybe I should consider BVI instead. In that case I would just use Dive BVI.
If we do go to Antigua, thanks for the help. I am def. interested in knowing a few good restaurants in case we go.

Antigua is one of my favorite places in the world, but if I were going on a dive trip I'd go somewhere else for sure. (Posted from a plane on the way to a week on a liveaboard in the Bahamas.)

Ha!

I've been two weeks in Carriacou as I write this.
