I know this is a little late, but the older Travel Wing was 30#'s of lift and would only work on the Trans Pac. Earlier this summer they changed it to 40#'s of lift and it would work on a backplate or Trans Pac. Now they have changed it again and it is back to 30#'s and will work on either a Bp or TransPac. So, when shopping e-bay or discounts you need to know which one you are looking at. Usually the old one is specified as 30#'s and for the Trans Pac. Not a lot of the 40's out there. Came to there senses pretty fast.

Dive Rite Express still list the 40. Dive Rite lists it at 30 and Leisure Pro has the old 30.

That is a good thing to know. In my particular case, Transpac only is fine. but it might hinder resale value.

Where do I find that coupon code?

What web site are you purchasing Dive Rite gear using the coupon code? I do not see direct sales available on the DiveRite web site.

I assume it is not scubatoys.

Thanks.

My take is that "travel" has nothing to do with it. The minor difference in stowed weight and space is insignificant compared to my 50# dive bag. I see no reason to own both. Pick the one that you prefer for single tank warm wetsuit diving, local or distant. I have the older 30# Venture wing.

I too use the older 30# Venture wing for both travel and local diving. (Dry or 7mm Wet Suit, HP100 tank)

When I have to replace it, I'll go with a DeepSea Supply 30#.
