Looking at getting a scuba package next week. This will be my first reg. The package is:

Dive Rite Transpac or Transplate (Wing, harness, Plate, Pockets, Strap)

Dive Rite RG3000 ICE

ScubaPro R295 Octo

Oceanic Veo 100NX Computer

Looking on here I couldn't find any info on the RG3000. Seems like a good setup for under $1500. The guys at the LDS were great and extremely informative.

Hey

I have a Diverite Transpac II and I love it (It is great if you are a really big dude) I like the control the wing based BC offers underwater, it does take getting used to on the surface (trim weights FTW) I just bought the Dive Rite Jet stream setup for my wife and myself, along with an adjustable 2010 series Dive Rite adj. second stage octo. Once again I will give a Prop to Northeast Scuba Supply. They were the best guys to deal with and dirt cheap deals on everything. I don’t care what anyone says the Jet stream package is rock solid (ots of folks are afraid of the Poseidon built regulator. The thing breaths like a Cadillac. I got both regulators and the Din to Yoke converter for under 500 bucks. Man I would swear by Dive Rite.

How do you think the 3000 compares to the Jet Stream? I was going to be picking up my setup tomorrow but I have a funeral to go to instead so it looks like Wednesday will be the day.

I wish I could try the gear out in the pool but the LDS doesn't allow it. Not even after you buy it :shakehead:

Oh well a buddy has a pool and said to come over once I had it.

For $1400 I think its a great deal

I believe the 3000ICE is the new Dive Rite reg and there may not be many people on here who have it. I have the 2500ICE, well actually I have two, and love them.
Ber :lilbunny:

I can only comment on the jet stream but I don’t think you can go wrong with any Dive Rite product. The Jet Stream can blow more air then my state congressman and that is a lot. I was wondering why you chose the Scuba pro octo? I would go with 2015 series, great regulator as a primary or secondary.

The scubapro was thrown in by the LDS. Not sure why he chose it over the 2015. Might be because I wanted the package to be under $1500.

With the BC setup, Computer, OCto and Reg it was 1425 after tax.

Dive Rite's proven RG3000 regulator offers excellent performance and reliability, yet is very affordable.
The first stage is a balanced diaphragm. i don't recommend flooding your regulator, but the RG3000 tolerates flooding very well, making it a good choice as a deco/stage/reserve first stage. Suitable for use in water to 50°F, an optional cold-water environmental kit that allows the RG3000 to perform in cold-water conditions. The environmental kit also protects the regulator from build up of salt, sand, or other contaminants. It comes standard with a 300-BAR DIN connector; a version with a native yoke fitting is also available. Nitrox-ready.

The second stage is a pneumatically balanced downstream design that has proven to be very reliable. The ergonomic, venturi lever is easy to adjust even with thick gloves or cold-water mitts. The use of a balanced second stage offers excellent performance at depth -- the deeper the dive, the less effort to breathe. Equipped with a stiff purge, venturi assist switch and breathing-resistance adjustment knob that has a range of adjustments well above average. Nitrox-ready.
