I am now in the market to buy gear and have so many choices! At this point I am diving singles but know that I am going to do doubles in the future and maybe further than that so I was considering the Dive Rite Nomad. From what I've read it seems pretty versitile. What is your opinion of that set up? Should I start with something more basic? I don't know if I shoud start with a basic BP/W set up for a single tank, then purchase a wing for doubles. So confused!! Any advice you can give would be appriciated. Thanks!

Well, the Nomad is for sidemount although you can use it with a single tank. I *think* it has the holes for mounting doubles on it but most people go with a hard backplate when using doubles.

A lot of this depends on what kind of diving you plan on doing in what locations and water conditions. Personally, I have a SS Transplate with a Venture wing for singles and then swap out the wing for a Classic wing when I want to dive doubles but I only use doubles occasionally. If I do wear a wetsuit, it is only a 3/2 so I don't have to worry about a sinking a dry suit.
