From what I've read, and in speaking with my LDS, this is going to be the computer that takes it all for awhile, you can do everything that the SmartCOm or Suunto's can do, but it can also do gas switching on the fly while you are diving, which these other Dive Computers cannot do.

Any takers?

As long as you're only diving air or nitrox it'll be fine. I believe it also has a gauge mode if you ever go to mix.

It's not cheap though. Most folks who actually use multiple gases are mix divers and if you dive mix it's useless except as a bottom timer.

The Nitek3 is a product of Florida cave country, where folks often make long dives at moderate depths. There is no need for trimix, but Nitrox, 50/50 and 100% oxygen can make a huge difference in deco obligation. The Nitek3 is the cat's meow for these dives.
