071510 Service Club @10am no surf entered and viz appeared to be 4 feet or so, as we moved out to 18 feet viz dropped to nothing. Lots of silt coming in. Bottom temp 77.

Another group of divers had the same experience with the viz abruptly going away. They also had an anchor dropped right next to them and the boater pulled their flag up and told them they "were too close" to his boat

They were in 25 feet and the viz dropped on them also

Viz over sand :2 ft

July 17, 2010 Alhambra 12:00

We dropped down on the blocks with viz varying between 1-3 feet. Depth between 16'-18'.
Two dives 45 mins and just over an hour. Viz remained about the same the entire time. Lots of small teeth and a 5" fake meg with a number written in the back???? Decent surge on the blocks and good sightings of different fish. Great day of Diving. I will post a pic of the fake meg under the picture/id thread if anyone knows where that came from.

Did S. Broahard this AM. Slight chop to the water, not too bad. Incoming tide, water temp was 82 & viz was around 6 ft. Nice dive. Saw a good sized snook & flounder & had 3 trigger fish chasing me around at the end of the dive.

Oops! Almost forgot, I did notice that the drift algae is starting to come in.

Did S Brohard again this am. Viz started off kinda crummy at first, with a lot of snot in the water. But as the dive progressed, viz cleared up to about 6-8 ft. Incoming tide, water temp 84 & was getting a little bumpy by the time I pulled anchor.

Diving a mile off of the Venice Beach on The Hammerhead yesterday ( 7-22-10 ) Water on top and bottom was between 83-85 degrees, Visibility on the bottom was between 2 feet and 0. Lots of slime in the water and on the Boneyard, we found lots of Megs and little teeth. I'll post a picture a little later. Wife found a beautiful 4'' Meg in almost perfect condition. At least 20+ good size teeth were found from all of the divers.

Diving with a scuba refresher student at the blocks, found plenty of small teeth and spotted one small (24"dia) female loggerhead SeaTurtle. Lot of drift algae around & inbetween the blocks.
