Shoot, it took me 3 months to finish my first class! :shakehead Okay last year's "constant" red tide and a very nasty cold got in the way.

You definitely have the right idea getting some beach dives in. If your LDS doesn't make you do some beach dives, it would be like a bird kicking out of it's nest before it could fly.... Plop!:eyebrow:

You don't necessarily want or need my opinion on the subject, but IMO, just finish your class and get some supplemental beach diving training once you're certified. Or before.
