We enjoyed the best visibility we've seen on the platform today. It was at least twenty-five feet and we could see it from forty feet above.
The posts were covered with juvenile California Scorpionfish. Some spots had a half dozen resting together.
California scorpionfish, Scorpaena guttata
The main draw of the platform, nudibranchs, seemed to be on vacation. I only saw a half dozen species, but I did find my first Aegires albopunctatus.
White spotted dorid, Aegires albopunctatus
While I was on a nudi hunt, Merry shot video. It's nice to have good enough visibility for photography once in awhile. Maybe it will make me forget how bad it's been all year.
Santa Barbara Janolus, Janolus barbarensis
Hudson's horned dorid, Acanthodoris hudsoni
Stearn's Aeolid, Facelina stearnsi
Club tipped anemones, Corynactis californica
