DIVE REPORT FOR APRIL 26 & 26 2008

Friday morning the Cat-N-Around left the Dock at 8 am to go out to the Oriskany Aircraft Carrier to do some dives. We had a full boat with 3 Guys from Arkansas and one part time Orange Beach diver from Wisconsin and 2 lovely lady riders.
The Seas were a little rough at 2-3' but not bad. We arrived on site as the only boat there and the water looked GREAT. John (the Dive Master) splashed to tie the line in to the mooring line at 20'. He surfaced with a report of outstanding visibility of 80 - 100 foot.
Everyone splashed for this great dive at 9:30 am and we were still the only boat on site. The reports after the dive were of Snapper, AJ's and a good number of Grouper just to name some of what they saw. Max depth of 120' for 35 minutes with a temp of 67-68*.
With the majority of the divers on board wanting to get back early afternoon we decided to dive a spot that was on the way back in so we did our SI while heading to the YDT-14/ Navy Dive Tender. At this Wreck divers reported vis at 45 - 50 foot and lots of sea life. Everyone really enjoyed this site as well.

Saturday morning the Cat-N-Around again left the Dock on time at 8 am with a full boat of divers and headed to the Russian Freighter. It was about a 45-50 minute boat ride to the site and when we got there we found that 4 boats had it covered up and it didn't look like they were leaving any time soon, so we decided to go to the PC Barge. We were the only boat on this site and quickly sent Blake (DM) down to tie in. This Barge is 110-foot and was sunk in 75 feet of water in 1990. Divers reported seeing a huge Moray Eel among a variety of sea life.
Second dive of the day was Three Coal Barges after waiting for a couple boats to leave for a spot. These barges rest end to end on a white sand bottom forming a wonderful area for safe, easy diving. Divers reported a really large turtle and hundreds of spade fish as well as large trigger fish.
I do have to mention that some of the divers joined Linda and Myself at the FloraBama for the annual beach party, Mullet Toss and a FUN time was had by all.

Nice report. Sounds like the dive sites need a traffic cop.
