Took a trip down to PCB this weekend and dove the county pier that is being built in Panama City. Got lucky and they weren't working on the pier Sunday. Not much to see. We saw some bait fish a few rays, a tool bucket that slipped from the paws of the workers and some nut and bolts that didn't make it on the pier. The fish haven't started taking to the pier yet. It was mostly sandy bottom. Our max depth was twenty feet and a total bottom time of 47 minutes. Visibility was about 12 feet.

My husband and I are interested in shore dives in PCB, and anywhere on the panhandle. Where is the new county pier being built?
Were there other divers there? We have done the Jetties at Saint Andrew, but not familiar with the new pier, is this the same as the fishing pier at the Dog Beach?

Where is Glenwood in relationship to Birmingham. We are about 5 hrs to PCB.

The county pier is under construction. There are no workers on it on Sundays. Glenwood is about 2 hours from PCB. I live about an hour below Montgomery. The pier is on front beach road. You can't miss it. Just look for the crane that is sitting on it. It is a couple of miles east of the city pier that is currently open. There is a parking lot and restrooms there. It is a public access point to the beach. I didn't see any other divers besides me and my buddy.
