Squalus
The Good Humor Guy
I just went through a thorough physical for my Dive Control Specialist course. During the entire phys the doctor was being very indifferent when she found out the purpose of the physical. Questioning why I wanted to do something risky and dangerous. I politely told her that my main job in the military is to jump out of planes and save lives so, how could scuba diving be as dangerous as that? Come to find out after alot of prying and blatantly asking her what the problem was about diving she told me. Her husband just recently passed while diving (had a coronary), so she said I could not have the completed form until I took a stress test and have my cholesterol checked and that would be approximately three weeks because, she wanted to make sure I had no coronary problems. My vital signs are always well within normal limits and even have an ekg run routinely just out of fun and always the same nothing wrong. I have never had any problems with any coronary problems nor do I think I will. Should I get another physical sheet and go to another doctor who is not biased and report her to the medical group she belongs too?
