Is there such a thing? Is there an on site dive shop anymore? I havent heard if Scuba Du was opening their office there again?

Anyone know if there are any other good ops that work out of Puerto Abrigo (sp?) and will pick up/drop off at the North Hotel Zone?

Thanks in advance! :)

Scuba Du was never in the El Coz...it was Ocean Tours. They are not reopened yet, but I think will be in the next few weeks.

Pepe Scuba out of the Coral Princess, but there are no other ops that will pick up at El Coz and then go all the way south again.

Christy, Scuba Du and Ocean Tours are sister companies, so El Cozumeleño is a Scuba Du location, brokered by Ocean Tours. Both Ocean Tours and Scuba Du are open and working.

Scuba Du is the only dive operator that picks up regularly (daily, year-round) at El Cozumeleño, and every hotel and condo in the north hotel zone where boat pick up is possible.

Oops...I stand corrected...sorry abot that!

I knew Ocean Tours and Scuba-Du had a reciprocal relationship...but I didn't know they actually marketed it that way :) I was told last week that the hotel location wasn't up and running yet...but again, I stand corrected...sorry about that...glad to hear they are though. As I've said in other posts...it makes me happy when another hotel opens and when another dive shop is operating again!

:D

You probably heard the Presidente location is closed, this is true. Intercontinental just announced a 25 Mill investment in the reconstruction of El Presidente, with an expanded and improved dive facility for Scuba Du. Reopening is scheduled for Sept. 1st.

;)

So whats the status of the Ocean Tours @ the El Coz.....I will be staying there in July and would really like to not have to drive to meet a dive boat, so pier pickup would be bonus.

BUT then again I am hesitant to book with Ocean ToursScuba Du with out Antonio being there. :)

Tell them to give you your old job back!

As Christi said Pepe Scuba the dive shop at Coral Princess will stop to pick you up, they have small fast boats max. 8 divers . I've been diving with Pepe for the last 10 years and never have a complain.
12 years ago when I did my first dive in Cozumel was with Scuba Do and they had big slow boats with 15 to 20 divers very crowded, I don"t know what they have now.
Another reason to dive with Pepe is the price, 5 days 2 tanks dive for $240 (you may get a discount if you pay cash) do a Google search type Pepe scuba coral princess and check the website.
Good luck, Paul

No, I knew about the Sept. 1 reopening and the major plans for renovation...but someone actually staying at El Coz told me the dive shop wasn't open yet...maybe they didn't know where the divce shop was...haha!

Christi, so you don't pick up at the El Cozumeleno?? That's really stinks if that's the case as we're planning on staying there and diving with you this November. I'll do whatever it takes to dive with you, maybe we could meet you some where via taxi??

Ok thanks! It looks like my choices will be:

1) Scuba Du
2) Pepe's Scuba
3) Drive to Papa Hogs every day....

Hmmmm I will have to think on this one. :)
