Hello,

I am new to ScubaBoard and New to Diving. My husband and I are going to Hawaii in March 09 and visiting Hilo, Honolulu, Nawilliwili and Lahaina. I am looking for reputable dive operators near where the boat docks in these locations so my husband and I can book a diving excursion.

I will be diving in Honolulu soon and will be posting a trip report. It is my first time to the islands and working through the different options has been a learning experience. I am signed up with an operation that comes highly recommended for three or four days of diving. I will let you know what I encounter.

Kona - Big Island Divers treated me and my lovely bride great.
Kauai - Seasports or FathomFive - both terrific.

Kona - Jack's Diving Locker was good.

Kauai - Fathom Five was good. Make sure you do a shore dive called Tunnels.

Lahaina - Lahaina Divers caters to less experienced divers. Biggest boats on the island. They're on Dickenson, just a block off Front St. (the street along the water) near the heart of downtown.

The Cathedrals off Lanai are pretty spectacular dives. And relatively shallow - 50' or so.

I dove Sheraton Caverns off Kauai with SeaSports. Great dive if you like big turtles. Most of the diving in Kauai will likely still be centered off the South/Poipu Beach area in March since they get big waves/weather on the North shore in winter. It's just south of Nawilliwili
