Hello:

Id like to dive Rhode Island sometime end of the month or beginning of next. Are there are any dive operators / dive boats that anyone would recommend? I have never been there so I do not know if its shore diving or boat diving. Do they accept walk-ins or do you have to arrange in advance etc. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks -

Sinbad

Wonderful! Let me add you to my buddy list. Whats your favorite shore dive?

Thanks bro. I spoke to them over the phone and they sound like wonderful people to dive with. I thought Rhode Island will have its own dive shops but it seems like they share a lot of water with MA based dive operators? If that is the case then I will only shore dive in RI and schedule boat dives from Cape Ann. I have heard good things about diving in both areas.

Cape Ann is great diving! It is a 2 hour drive from RI. The vis is usually much better than RI and this time of year the water temps are the same.

Shore diving around here is wind / weather dependant. My favorite shore dive may too long of a time in the water even in a dry suit to do this time of year, but we have some good shore diving if we can hit it right.

Depending on when you're up on Cape Ann drop me a PM if you're looking for enough people to get the boat to run. On Cape Ann Divers website it says they will run with as little as two people, not sure if that's still the case in the off season though.
