I'm treating this like a backup light that I strap to my shoulder strap (like THIS member did with his).

But I would like some power to use it during daylight and the 28 lumens of the Tec 40 just doesn't cut ......... but the size is great.

Thoughts?

Someone is selling these here on SB: http://www.laluzoptics.com/L800.html

If you don't want to spend $200 though, the Dorcy is just a little longer than the light pictured in your link:
Penetrater 220, Piranha Dive Manufacturing

They're pretty bright - although I haven't used it during the day much. It's my primary for clear water dives at night.

I have the Dorcy 220 lumen. I just finished three dives in a local lake this morning. Visability was 6 to 8 ft. The light functioned perfectly throughout the dives. It worked extremely well in the open flat areas as well as checking out dark grottos. I use this now as my primary. Once I get another light, 500 lumen +, the Dorcy will become my secondary. I hightly recommend it.

I was just in my go-to shop and they had a sample of a new light from Princeton Tec called the League. Got to play with it and its super bright and only needed 4-AA's, its a 210 Lumen light and is going to sell for about $45. I'm certainly picking one of these up as soon as I can, it will be a great go between for a primary and secondary!

Interesting. There are two Leagues listed here. 125 lumen / 4AA and 400 lumen / 4C

That was the origional plan, it went away. Only the 4AA League 100, 210 lumen version is being produced. I got that info from the Princeton Tec Dive Division Manager.

The had this light on display at the Scuba show in Los Angeles, it was expected to be out 1.5 months later. At that time the only working lights were the prototype's at the show. 1.5 months has come and gone. :(
