Hi all,

So I purchased a Princeton Shockwave 2 and it has probably seen about 15 dives or so and within about 8-10 dives, after every dive I find moisture inside the light. At first it was minimal but now there's corrosion on the springs and condensation on the light lense. This is really disappointing as I like the light but I'm sure in a few more dives it will be dead. Does anyone know how to stop this? I've been taking good care of it (I thought), I rise it after every dive with freshwater, I let it dry and then store it with the cap loosened to relieve pressure on the o-ring. I've cleaned the o-ring and am still getting water inside, what the heck?!

I would start by checking the o-ring. Perhaps there is a nick in the oring which is allowing moisture in. Also, when you have the oring out, check the area where it seats to make sure there are no areas of minor damage. No matter what, I would contact the store where you bought it because it should be covered under warranty still.

you might have a hairline crack in your o-ring or maybe a small issue with the housing. or a worn thread.

most of the princeton tec lights have a lifetime warranty.

I've sent several back to them for warranty and never had an issue. They will replace it for free and pay shipping to send it back to you. (expect it to be gone 2-3 weeks I'd guess from my past experience).

I don't know that the o-ring is covered under warranty, so if it cost a couple bucks for them to replace it, you're still doing ok.

I had the same issue with one several years ago. Replaced the oring, lubed it and so forth and it still leaked. Finally the bulb got wet and blew. I emailed PT and they took it back. Before I sent it back I searched for a leak. I found a VERY small hairline crack in the handle part. From the outside it was hard to see, the inside had collected dirt. I found it by filling it with water.
At any rate I would contact PT and let them know.

Send it back with an explanation of the issue and they'll replace it. PT stands behind their product. I had an issue with a PT surge. Took it back to the lds, he gave me a new one, he had a replacement in less than week.

I've just contacted PT and am awaiting a response, thanks for the help!
