Can anybody help me!!! I am about to engage on my Dive Leader course which I am looking forward to, the problem I have is the dive leader record pages in my BSAC training folder have become damaged. Does anyone know if I get a new set with my course manual or can I obtain a new set through BSAC or anyother outlet.

Many thanks for any help.

I honestly have no idea what a "Dive Leader" is all about but it sounds like you need to talk to your instructor. This material costs the instructor 21 pounds vs student cost of 48 pounds. I would just hope you instructor is not out to squeeze every dime from the process.....

This is the difference between BSAC and the others.

Each instructor has a full set of lesson plans when either they attended their instructor training course or were given it for free in 2007.

The Dive Leader Student Pack is available to BSAC Members who want to undertake the course, cost £21. or any non-BSAC Member who wants to purchase at £45, but they cannot undertake the course without first becoming a BSAC Member.

I recently ran some Dive Leader open water training involving any two of the 7 lessons[1] for £10.. So no we do not take advantage of our students, they are BSAC Members as well..

1. Dive Leader Open Water lessons:
* Deploy a DSMB from mid-water whilst controlling buoyancy.
* Plan a dive within the limitations of previous experience and be seen as a role model
* Plan and conduct a dive within the limitations of a trainee Ocean Diver's lesser experience
* Use the buoyancy of a lifting bag to reposition a shot weight
* Manage a rescue scenario and participate in other scenarios
* Emergency procedures including self-rescue and surface assistance to a buddy
* Recover an incapacitated casualty to the surface, secure them there and administer inwater RB while towing Administer oxygen enriched inflations
