I was on Christmas Island as well as Cocos Keeling 2 1/2 years ago. I dove with Indian Ocean Academy - which at that time translated to one person - Marcus. I found the diving good but not spectacular - having said that - I was not disappointed. Diving is follow the leader, timed, and moves at a very slow pace - and I go very slow. I stayed at Sunset - good accomodations, got a car - needed - to get to the market - and ate at a couple of of places - not all that many choices. I recall diving in a 3mm without a problem. Make sure that Marcus is willing to go diving for all of the days that you want. Just two dives in the morning. Go out, dive, back to the "beach" - you will see what I mean - pack lunch - I think you do better by getting your own stuff at the market - dive 2.

I flew out of Perth on National Jet. Now there is a SilkAir charter that is operating once a week out of Singapore - that might be a very good option.

Could you post a link to your report so it's easy to find?
