I'm a Fish!
Ok, what is the best thing to do when coming from a dive site with no time to shower and having to go to the grocery store or some where else on the way home??? My hair always looks like a rats nest when I come out of the water. I usually throw a hat on top of it after a dive. Not the best looking thing to do but I figure it spares people the pain of looking at my nasty hair do.

wear a tank top, no one will ever notice your hair... lol

seriously though, I put conditioner in my hair right after I'm done diving if I have somewhere else to go. That way i can just brush through it at least and throw it up in a pony. but if all else fails, resort back to the tank top :eyebrow:

Quite right, onditioner is the way to go! Redken makes a conditioner called 'Sun Cream' that helps break down salt and revitalise your hair after a swim. Smoothing a bit of it through your hair when it's towel-dry, then brushing, helps to make the bad dive hair go away and also tends to keep your hair from going all crispy once it's dried. Any old conditioner would likely do, but make sure it's a leave-in and isn't too heavy or greasy.

Me, I've just decided to embrace the dive hair. I met a friend for dinner the other week after a dive and didn't have time to shower first. A guy passed by our table, took one look at my 'do and said, 'So, you're a diver, eh?' ^_^ Wear your dive hair with pride!

I shave my head, which pretty much eliminates any "dive hair" concerns. This might not be the optimal solution for the ladies, however.

Yup!!

I put a small - dime sized for my shoulder length, pretty thick hair is way more than enough - amount of Biolage Conditioning Balm in before I dive. It works for the whole day, multiple dives and at the end of the day I either finger comb if no running water is available or splash a bit of water through it and call it close enough.

Hats are good, though...or a bandana, better yet a great scarf - think classic chic here!

I wear a hat with a dive flag on it.

I always put the conditioner in before a dive (a leave in style) and plait my hair or weave it in a tight bun low of my head so the mask strap sits above, as soon as my gear is packed away i just unravel the bun, spray with conditioner and run a comb through and i am good to go, i have extremely long hair down to the butt and i rarely get a freaky rat nest do after a dive, I also recommend the redken products.

I used to have very long hair, but now its just shoulder length. Threaten to chop it off every spring...
Ok, off topic (sorta) enough...
I have a travel size bottle of conditioner I put in my save a dive kit. Aussie 3 min stuff. Towel dry, put conditioner in, comb thro, on to next activity...

I swear I looked like I was out of a bad 80's trip my last dive. I was afraid to even try to brush it. I'm going to try to conditioner in my hair. No fair that the guys don't have to look as bad as we do getting out of the water. And they always want to go to get something to eat on the way home. I will learn to embrace my dive hair!

I don't like putting conditioner in my hair prior to a dive (the whole polluting thing) so I use a children's spray/leave in conditioner. Just spray it in, brush your hair, and you're good to go!
