Dear Friends:

I will be using Dive Friends on my next trip to Bonaire. My stay is close to Yellow submarine. How easy is it to pickup and return tanks? I know the hours are 8-5. Is there a long wait to get Nitrox tanks?

Any facility to drop off and pick up tanks after hours?

thanks

Easy. No.
And from their website:
"Do I have access to tanks 24 hours a day?
The tank lockers and nitrox stations at our dive locations are open from 8am to 5pm. If you’re planning a night dive or a dawn dive, you can leave your tanks in our night locker, just ask any of our crew for details."

Thank you tursiops. By easy you mean there is no long wait for nitrox tanks?

Thank you DustyC. In the past I did the Buddy Dive route. This time, I thought of DF because I can take the Marine Park orientation at the store shortly after I arrive rather than wait until the next day. So I thought of renting from them too. I still like Buddy very much.

Never a wait then a few minutes to get tanks... Very helpful if you need a extra tank for a night dive and your going north and will miss the 5pm closing... They are just a great bunch of people at Dive friends...

I always use Dive Friends Bonaire for my unlimited air package. No wait for tanks and thay have 5 sites for pick up/drop off. The 5pm thing is just something to be aware of and allow for. Not a problem - at least for me.

As an aside, if you get your air package from them you get a good reduced price on any boat dives you do.

A bit off topic, but I think the dive at Yellow Submarine is a bit underrated as well--especially for macro life. This the only site on Bonaire where I've seen a batfish -

Great Video..... Thanks... I always wanted to do a video of our trips... But I SUCK at it..
So I just link people to videos like this, When asked what we did or see... LOL
