What have you seen that you wish you could buy? Can Americans own property there? South Pacific, Caribbean, tell me where.

Fiji was pretty attractive. $25,000 for about 25 acres of ocean front property when I was there 5 years ago. A lot better than my $700,000 for 1,200 sq ft here!

Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Never seen a nicer beach than North beach down there

Isla Mujeres, Mexico

All well and good but Mexico has a recent (and highly annoying) history of governmental repatriation (read: taking) of land from non-citizens. The Mexican government (such as it is) seems to have a penchant for beachfront land. Maybe 6 years ago, the Pacific side from what I recall.

Tobago is highly inviting. Problem? Almost impossible to secure clear title.

That's the good thing about buying an entire island.

The bad thing is that if you figure on starting your own country, this can get expensive what with the flag design, anthem, sending an Olynmpic team, etc.

Then.. you have to name it.
