I don't think you'll find someone to be the other woman just so she can give gifts. ;) Maybe you should buy your wife something spectacular -- might encourage her to reciprocate. As I posted earlier, Mama needs a new sports car... :eyebrow:

This is a well known? and VERY SIMPLE thing that is important in life.
Certified vs. Qualified!
I'd rather take qualified any day! However that usually includes being certified first.

divewriter:
very true re: use of tables versus understanding of tables. I always tell new members of our underwater film/exploration projects that having recieved training, they are now in a position to BEGIN the learning process, which takes far more than a couple of open water dives and a card or two.

Can someone please explain what "hoseless air integrated" means?
Or as the scubatoys website terms it "wireless air integrated"?
I'm not sure I can visualize a dive computer knowing the air level in your tank if it isn't attached (somehow) to the tank.
PM me, please... on this answer.
And just a reminder to all the divers who want to point fingers at my naivete'...
isn't the only stupid question one that isn't asked?

LavaSurfer:

The Suunto D9 dive computer looked worthwhile researching online...
so I typed in key words and discovered that certain serial numbers and software versions are being recalled by Aqualung to correct a defect.
PLEASE GO TO Agualungs website and read if you have one of these or intend to buy one of these. The internet info was dated 12/04. Not too long ago.
Sincerely Dive Safe,

Aquanaut4ata:
I have the Cyber aqualand NX, and like it alot. As pointed out above, it's NOT air integrated, and if I was shopping for it today, I would buy the Suunto d-9....that one is air integrated, 3 mix capable, and even has a built in compass, and it's as small as a watch.....in fact, I may buy one anyway.
With regard to the buttons, there are only 2 buttons to use while diving on the cyber aqualand, which are the light button on the face, and the bottom right button, which toggles between dive mode/ascent mode, and I have had no problems with readability. Also, as mentioned above, you can find it for under $500 if you look around.

In my case, as a girlfriend, I paid to have my boyFRIEND learn to dive, helped him buy his dive gear (at a gooood price since I worked at the dive shop), made sure HE had the newer, better quality gear (being I was the more experienced diver, BLAH BLAH BLAH....

I still LOVE the man 20 years later... even if he did recently ask for "his" regulator back along with his housekey. Even though the MOST he will dive is 5' underneath his old boat that he doesn't take out on the water. Oh... and he has always owned the tanks... even if he overpaid for the "used" tanks and I have paid for annual VIP's, hydro's, etc!!!

MY GOAL WAS TO HAVE A LONG-TERM DIVE BUDDY THAT I COULD COUNT ON AND KNEW I COULD TRUST. Even the best laid plans....

Ya just can't force someone to LOVE diving and/or boating.
There are two types of people out there... those who DO & those who DON'T.

Good info....I haven't gotten mine yet, but plan to. The recall doesn't sound like any big deal, but needs to be taken care of. Here's a link that explains it:
