Hey guys and gals;

I am looking for information on the Cochran dive computers. What I am looking for is the older version of the Analyst software, or the data format that is used. The reason I ask this is I aquired a Nemesis computer, inwhich the software was not working, so I contacted Cochran. They informed me that they have not produced that software in X years, but I could pay 200 buck for a newer copy. So I desided if I can not get a copy that works I will just write my own software.

Thanks

Out of curiosty how do you plan to get your software into the computer? I assume the Cochran is a sealed wrist mounted computer. Maybe I am mistaken. Can you write software and load it?

The dive computer I have like many others have a computer interface to download dive data. - This data is formated in a unique pattern by the manufactor, and is read by your PC. To clear thing up a little let me explain - There are two types of software, the one located in the dive computer, and the other located on your PC. The one that is on the dive computer is designed for that hardware, and IS OWNED BY the company that wrote it. The software on you PC reads the data from the dive computer, the program knowing the wat the data is formated put the inforemation into a database, to be viewed by you. This is where I come in If I can figure out the way the data is formated coming from the dive computer, I will be able to write a program to read, and view this information.
