For anyone looking to dive lake michigan from saugutuck to ludington.....you should contact gordon at obsessiondiving.com. we did a wreck with his charter this last weekend and was very impressed with his knowledge and his professionalism. Unfortunately for us the weather turned south after our first dive, so we had to move into white lake for our second dive.
We dove the Brightie, it was a nice wreck, visibility was well over 50 feet, bottom temp even this weekend was in the upper 40's. surface temp was 67 degrees. Waves were fairly small at 2 feet on the first dive, but after we surfaced, it quickly went to 3-5 feet with some larger rollers.....gordons boat handled very well in these conditions, however, it would have been very difficult to get out of the water safely if he had allowed us to dive. We plan to do another charter in the summer with gordon and would highly recommend him to anyone wanting a fantastic wreck diving experience.
