This may be for another thread but I was just wondering what happened to the SEA KISS. Hopefully everyone was alright

we could start the Sea Kiss thread.
Yes every one is alive and well, my dive buddy came out with a cuple of broken ribs, the rest of us with scrapes and bumps. I am tempted to wright a small book about the hole thing but down the road. the person I realy feel sorry for is Ed the captin he had a good operation and I here becouse of the wreck of the Sea Kiss there has been some changes come down from Transport Canada that has cost the operators of comercial boats big bucks. some lessons where learnd and we all will be safer becouse of our missfortune. it is hard to beleave it has almost been a year, we will be doing a wreck class up there in Sept. and plan to look for stuff we lost on our last dive. I will not hold my breath though. thanks for askin.

Actually Tranport Canada was cracking down on charter operators before the Sea Kiss accident and they are not related. Not that it matters too much but I would hate for Ed to take the blame for that.

cheers,

Only hear say, but i have been told they do not have insurance, maybe worth checking into.

I would like to know if anyone has been on Divers Choice Charters and what they think. :06:

That is hear say. I have been looking into there operation and the last I checked they did have and do have Insurance.

I have booked a trip with them and hope the trip fills from my shop. on haloween we will be on the deck of one ship not sure witch on.

Cannot find any info on the Sea Kiss on the Web. I would sure like to hear the details of this. Is there any information about the accident?

So if it's hearsay why are you posting it on the web? Get your facts right before you post inflamitory information.
I happen to know for a FACT that Divers Choice Charters is fully insured

I don't think Ed will be putting it up on the Sundowns web page. jbshaw36 has first hand knowledge of it. Maybe a PM will get him to spill the beans. ;)

I just got back from Diving this weekend with Divers choice.
What a hoot! I plan to go back SOON!!!!!.
We did a drift Dive at the Dodds. (You must be sure of yourself and at least 100 dives under your belt for this one)
we first did the 1.1 knot dive drift in then out. that was such a kick we then had a good SI we did it again but Ken took us up and dropped us off to do a 3.3 or so out.
We used the See Doo scooters on both dives and boy they come in handy made the
Dive that much better.
Ken and his wife are some of the best host's I’d had yet on a boat so far.
and for some one to start a roomer that they don't have insurance "shame on you"
I can tell you I know they do first hand.
Some one asked me this question personally before I left for this trip.
So I asked to see it even though I check before.
They have insurance. It was anothere boat that did not that we canceled months before this trip.
I would recommend this dive operation to anyone and plan to go with them many more times.

:07: Canada Dive Trip
We Dove the HMCS Saskatchewan and the HMCS Cape Breten, on Oct. 30th and 31st.
We had 50 to 70’ 0f Vis. I wish my camera did not flood. :{

The first dive was on the Cape she has a bunch more life on her since last year.
The second dive was on the Scatch. What a fun ship to dive on ton’s of life and with scooters you could see lots. It was fun weaving in and out of the supports on the outside passage way. Follow the leader!

The third dive was at Clark rock. I was able to see the entire rock with the scooter. I was looking for possible spots for eels and Octo’s. And found some.

Sunday: The weather was too ruff for the ships so we went to “DO THE DODDS”
What a kick in the pants. I loved this dive it was a 1.1 knot dive you drift in just before the tides change then drift out.

Then we did this drift again at a 3.5 knot drift we motored in and was dropped off to drift out. Ken (The Captain) dropped us off in a back eddy so we could get together then we headed out.
Once we caught the current we where separated for a moment and caught up to one another ASAP. This was just a dive with 4 of us. Ken and Shanyn Poirier. And My buddy Terry and I.

The Shanyn was first, then came myself, then Ken then last but not least Terry.
At one point Shanyn stopped at a rock then I stopped behind her and off to the right side.
Then she comes, Ken hits the top of Shanyn, Ken does a summersault over top. Then Terry hits me and we all go sailing off again. “WHAT A HOOT”

This was one of the most fun dives I have ever done. I would do it again in a heart beat.
We had so much fun pretending to run up right and yelling Yaw Hoo that we sucked down our air in just 27min. (well I should say us boys, we were down to 500psi)

At the end of the dive we three boys where using our pony bottles to do our safety stop at 15’. I on my pony, Terry on his and Ken on his wife’s safe second.
Why does the woman have so much air left? they make us guy’s look bad under water.

The third dive was to be at “Round Island reef”. But someone went the wrong way I won’t say who. But we did see two decorated crabs dooking it out that was cool.

One of the best parts of the weekend was having a great Boat to dive off of, and a great Captain “Ken Adrian” and his wife made the best home made food (like grandma’s cooking) and the best pie I have ever had. Peanut butter pie! I would go back just for another peace of pie.

Diver’s choice is a great outfit to dive with I can’t wait to go diving with them again.
www.divingbccanada.com checks them out. Try them out and see for yourself.

Thanks Ken and Caroline for making my diving safe and fun maybe next time you can take me out where I was ship wrecked last year. The water was to rough this time to dive the wall but maybe next time it won’t.
