Glad you cleared that up. You are talking to people in Florida, we border Alabama. I thought you were talking about SA - Southern Alabama

One thing is for sure, if I lived in Florida I wouldn't spend almost all day and night driving to dive a couple times with 10 - 20 feet vis cold water.

Of course as you seen not all the divers who frequent the midwestmuckdivers forum are aware of the names of all the places we dive around these parts. Big area of the country and lots of places to dive.

If a person looks here;
http://www.scubaadventurer.com/missouri.html the SA Quarry is the Eugene listing.

I lived in WI for a while, sorry, ever think about running away from home? That's how I got to Florida. One day I told the wife to pack up, were moving to Florida

Ahhh I get it - SA Quarry (Scuba Adventure). Here in the Warrensburg/Sedalia area we call it Eugene Quarry or some call it Eldon. This is actually where I did my OW Certification through Scuba Down Under in Sedalia. Didn't have time to do much "fun diving" while going through the certification. Do remember the drive into the place, really need a 4 wheeler not really a road, but rather a path.

Thanks,
S. Nagel

I will be at either Oronogo or Beaver doing Rescue Diver class Oct 7-8.

I remember running into a class from Scuba Down Under when I went diving there earlier this summer or spring, I was there to clean the platform in the shallow quarry after I did the fun dive. Did you certify this year there?

The shop that was there was having their divers walk in full gear up the hill to the deeper quarry in the heat. I was personally surprised somebody didn't have a stroke doing that. Some of them looked pretty hot in the neoprene wetsuits. You know that's probably 1/10 of a mile. Tough students to do that, I would have said give me the keys and I'll meet you there but then I'm a wimp...:D

I was there in July doing certification. We started in the "shallow" where the pontoon boat is. That wasn't us walking up the hill. We went to the other quarry the next day (we drove). I'm surprised they let the students walk around in the suits. When I did my certification, they wouldn't let us put on the suits until we were ready to get in the water (it was pusin' 100 degrees). In fact, one of my peer students couldn't understand this simple rule and got a little "scolded" a few times. Maybe my class was after the fact and they learned somethig.
