Is that this coming weekend?

Columbus Day is Oct 9th

If you would like to dive Morrison, VOrtex and Cypress, I dive them often. Plan to hit one today after work.

Depends on what you call travel. I went up to Springfield MO this years, up one a Saturday and back on Sunday.

I could probably dive SA Quarries Monday, possibly Sunday if you want to. Let me know.

Well, Crunch is in Jefferson City Missouri, SA Quarries is located in Eugene MO, about 18 miles past Jefferson City.

It stands for Scuba Adventure Quarries. That's the shop that owns it. It's a private quarry, either you dive with a buddy from the SA shop or Columbia Scuba. You pay the SA shop a few dollars to dive it, most of the time.

NO.. Columbus Day is Oct. 12th.
Perhaps companies are taking the 9th off for it.. but thats not the day.
The 12th is a thursday. If things go right I plan on diving Beaver on the 14th/15th.
Then again.. that is if things go right... Guess its more up to Murphy than me.

In 1937 President Franklin Roosevelt proclaimed every October 12 as Columbus Day, however since 1971 it has been celebrated on the second Monday in October.

Look at your calendar, you will see 2 dates listed for Columbus Day, the second Monday and the traditional Oct. 12. Thus we have a bit of confusion as to which weekend a person means when they say they're doing something Columbus Day Weekend because each day is close to a weekend. I'd take it to mean the date closest to the 9th because many calendars will highlight Sunday and Monday signifying the long weekend from Saturday through Monday.
