Dive Buddies Wanted: Cyprus

Hi folks,

I recently moved to Cyprus and am looking for dive buddies, preferably on the western end of the island, near Polis or Paphos.

I am 62, fit and a very experienced diver, 1000+ dives. I have nitrox, Rescue and am a chamber operator. I am willing to dive with divers of any experience level, as long as they have a safe attitude

I have a 4x4 vehicle and a full set of gear. I mostly dive sidemount.

I’m mostly looking for shore dives, and the occasional boat dive.

I live in Germany and Cyprus (pissouri) and I am a beginner diver with an advanced open water diver certification and specialties like nitrox, sidemount and night. Yet I am not very experienced yet. I am flying back and forth and want to find a buddy in cyprus to go diving more often. I intend to start diving more and more with sidemount and buy equipment but havent done so yet because in Cyprus it is difficult to find folks who sidemount. Are you still in cyprus and will you be here for some time? I am flying back to cyprus und the 23.10, and plan to go to the zenobia for my deep dive specialty, maybe after that we could try a dive site together?

Cyprus is still on my list, also because of the 'strange' things of the country like the Turkey part.
So if I want to visit Cyprus for about 1 week, can you advice me? Shore dives are also ok. But of course the Zenobia must be done.
I also read about the marathon in march, and they don't have a time limit, so you can still finish and get your medall if you are slower than 6 hours. (At the moment I am not ready for a whole marathon, have just finished my first half last saturday, but I am a slow runner sadly).

Best sea conditions are usually in the mornings, as winds tend to increase in the afternoons. I live about 25 minutes from Paphos.
The Zenobia is a great wreck! About 2 hours from me.

There are some good shore dives near Paphos. Do you have dive gear in Cyprus? If not, I have some extra you could use.
Best sea conditions are usually in the mornings, as winds tend to increase in the afternoons. I live about 25 minutes from Paphos.

If I come I can take most of the gear with me, but no weights and tanks of course.
Are the shore dives good? Or better boatdives?

I have 3x 12L tanks and 2x 15L tanks and plenty of weights. There are some decent shore dives, as well as some boat dives from Latchi.

Just booked. I will return to my motherland on 02 July 2025 and stay 6 weeks. Get those tanks filled
