Hi. I have a Black Diamond BC and it has the provision for non-ditcheable weights. I have just been able to drop 2 lbs off my lead and need to redistribute the weight.

I use 10 lbs of lead. I started out using 3 lbs each in the rear and 2 lbs each in the front. Last weekend, I switched them around. Not good. This weekend I will try 4 each in the back and 1 each in the front. Or maybe 5 each in the rear.

Im trying to test all possibilities to get the best scenario for me. I use a 95 cubic tank and heavy jet fins.

How do you all distribute your weight? 50-50? 60-40?

I also do not want to move the tank as I put the carrying strap around the neck of the tank to get it exactly the same every setup.

Zeagle. Really love that brand. Hope it gets more popular here in the Philippines. I wanted to buy the Ranger ltd but the shop just did not keep any in stock.

Anyway, I know that more ditcheable is advised. Only problem is it does not work for me. I have thought about this a lot and have decided that I can handle the ill advised distribution. I mean 6 lbs is not much. I can swim that up any day. And the 44 lbs of lift is way too much. I f I ever need to drop weights at the surface, I can take off the BC if needed.

What does everybody else do?

I only need 4lbs in my Zeagle trim pouches (I have a Ranger LTD) but I use an LP 95. They keep me vertical at the surface and don't give me a problem at depth.

By the way, I use a total of 18 lbs with a 7 mil.

Using 26lbs I put 8 total in the rear pouches

Wow. I must be doing something wrong. I like to be horizontal in the water but to do that I think I need 8 in the rear and 2 in the front.

Maybe I should just move the tank up. It is the same size as an AL80 but about 2 inches longer. I think they called it super 80's. They are 80 cubic at 3000 and 95 cubic at 3500. At least that's what the shop told me.

I use 60/40 rear being heavy.

Honestly, I just don't see much use for droppable weights. If I dropped 4lbs anywhere in a dive, I'm likely to be on, at any time, I'd be bouyant. Any more than than, I'd be way too bouyant.
