I'm doing Disneys divequest in the world of living seas in Epcot in the third week of sept. Has anyone ever done this before? Would you have any pointers? And I don't have an under water camera can someone recomend a decent disposable or cheap one to get for diving. Thanks in advance for all your help and comments. Steven

I doubt that they will let you bring a camera in the water with you. The only gear of your own that you can bring is a mask, they provide everything else to keep contaiminates out of the water. The do video tape the dive and offer it for sale afterwards. I've heard only good things about this dive and everyone loves the interaction with the guests watching.

Have fun.

I agree.
Great dive. It is mask only.
They probably wouldn't want you to take pictures as they consider you part of the show. The video is pretty good though.
A pointer might be to have someone with a good polarizer take shots of you from the guest areas.

Just returned last night from WDW and took my daughter on the dive, her first my third. It is an easy dive no equip. but your own mask and whatever you wear under a shorty wetsuit. We had a mix of gear with Atomic titanium regs and scuba pro BC wth weight integration thank God. The last 2 times we had weight belts and I hate belts alone. They had a problem with the edit equip after the dive so we all got free video sent to our homes and they were here when we got home, otherwise they charge 39-40 bucks.

Have fun and enjoy the easy diving,

chuckrt

Nothing to add, just reinforcing by agreeing:)

BTW, when I did the dive, no cameras were allowed, because we were taken through "backstage" areas that are not open to the general public. The "guide"(?) said that pix of these areas would "spoil the magic" of the park.

Enjoy the experience, buy the video.
it will be fun.

I did divequest 2 years ago -- great time. You will love the 300 foot visibility.

One thought -- If you have friends/family with you, have them tell a staff member that they are "related" to one of the divequest divers as soon as they enter the exhibit (they have to go through the main entrance with the rest of the "tourists"). They will make sure they are in the right place to get a good view of you when you are in the tank.

Here is a link to a trip report I wrote on my experience --

Enjoy!

We did the dive last year and had a great time.

Have someone on the otherside of the glass take the picture. My kids loved seeing me a few years ago. I loved the experience.:)

I'm going down to Disney with family unit during winter break. I'm definately doing this. I called to reserve for Feb break and they said it's still too early to reserve and to try back in December. They assured me it's not a problem getting a reservation for the dates I want to go. They used only allow 8 divers at a time, now they allow up to 12.

For those interested, details:
(407) WDW-Tour is number to call to reserve.
It's $140. 10% discount ($126) if SSI Diver.
They have two dives daily. 4:30 and 5:30
If want to put your experience on video, $35 ($70 if want on DVD)
