I took off the housing on my Cobra just to inspect it and such. I discovered the buttons where slightly discolored where the plastic pad contacts the metal button. It looks like water is taking too long to try since they don’t get a lot of air. I cleaned it off the best I could with my finger, but I’m afraid it will continue to get worse. Are the buttons stainless steel? Can anyone suggest a good way to prevent this from getting worse, and is it really a concern.

Thanks

I have been using a cobra for the past 4 yrs and I use mine 3 times a week, the cobra is used in clorine and salt a lot of times with little maintaince other than a rinse now and then, we did a battery change early in the year and there was no issues with the case or buttons.
I would say your cobra will be fine.

Don't worry about it.

Unless you also worry about your tires getting dirty. ;)

Heh, ya I'm probably over analyzing it, but I do that a lot.

I was just worried that the buttons were starting to rust, and I wanted to curb it quickly if that was the case.
