'Discover Scuba' in San Diego or LA?

I'm going to be in SD/LA for a week in early Sept and wanted to do some diving. I'm certified, but I've got a couple friends in the area who are interested in trying scuba diving out.

Can anyone recommend shops in either LA or SD that do 'Discover Scuba' classes - preferably ones that actually take you out on a shallow dive vs the pool only version.

Called OEX in LaJolla since I had dove with them before, but they don't offer it.

Yeah, I went with them a couple years ago. Trying to avoid the expense of the Catalina Ferry if possible.

Found these guys in San Diego - Scuba San Diego Private Scuba Class, Private Instruction - anyone ever use them before?
