hi all, im interested in how dir divers configure their reg for single tank diving, by that i mean how they route their hoses coming ot of the first stage etc, i see how it is routed when diving doubles, with backup running in round the right side of the head and around etc, i guess it would be the same config just havent seen much on the web about singles configurations, not intending to go dir right now, but possibly in the future..

My single tank reg is setup just like any normal single tank reg. My wing and backup reg hoses are shorter than the standard setup. The hoses don't stick out that much.

Here's how I do it with piston first stage (Scubapro MK20/25, Atomic Aquatics etc.):

Scroll down on left side of page to see the single tank configuration.

I have used Worthinton HP 120 single tanks with a Becheat Y valve and ran the lines the same way I do on my doubles. It works pretty well and it saves time not having to re-rig for a singles configuration. The Y valve was 200 din but that never presented too much of a problem, they can also be a little on the pricey side.

Safe diving,

Robbie

ScubaJohn,
On a DS4 first stage (DIN), the primary (long hose) and the backup are routed on the right hand side of the first stage. What remains: The SPG goes on the high pressure port while the inflator and drysuit are on the left hand side of the first stage.
BTW I'm not DIR but I suspect this would be an acceptable DIR answer.
