I was diving this past weekend at Gilboa while they were holding a DIR F class there. From speakng with a number of the participants, they were having a great time, as were the instructors.
Your class should be even warmer and more comfortable than theirs.
If anyone is looking at taking this class, you should consider looking at Jill's set for the end of May.
I've just spent the past weekend in DIRF class with Andrew Georgitsis, Mike Kane (MHK) and Sonya Tittle. What a dynamic and committed group of instructors! I would HIGHLY recommend taking this class - especially from these instructors. It was intense, but it was also a LOT of fun!
When students struggled the most, the instructors were cheering them on to keep trying regardless if they were successful during the weekend or not. They were also very candid about what needed improvement - which is a major part of the class: Here's the bar and here's what you can do to reach it.
I think everyone came out of it fired up about practicing OOA drills and dialing in their bouyancy and trim issues to become better divers. Our club list is filling up with messages about "who's going to be practicing skills this weekend" - no longer just "who's going out diving this weekend" posts. Besides, what exactly are you going to look at for 40 minutes in a quarry with limited viz?? Might as well practice skills for awhile then do the usual tour.
