I opologize. The post was meant as a joke.
I didn't take it as a joke... I thought maybe you were reading my mind!!!

I had just begun to realize what an asset Lawman has been to getting the word out about DIR... I even mention this in several PMs to other posters who were getting fed up with him.

near as I can tell Halcyon was started by divers to provide the equipment you couldnt get anywhere else and regardless of how popular DIR is or may become they will always put out the same kind of gear. unlike other manufacturers who sell whatever they think the people are buying . if they think pink polkadot jacket BCD's will sell you can bet they will all have one next year and if they think that people are buying DIR gear they will all start selling something that appears to be DIR but will be cheap junk
The best thing that could happen to the dive industry would be for consumers to actually find out about their Equipment so they cant sell flashy junk anymore .

I am very interested in whether/if a paraplegic diver can benefit from the DIR-F class.

Thanks

I've DM'd a couple of classes for paraplegic divers. However, that is the limit of my experience with paraplegic divers.

I don't see why DIR-F would not be of benefit. While the finning techniques may be moot depending upon the diver's ability to move their legs (both gentlemen I worked with were able to move their legs, although their primary means of propulsion was special gloves), the buddy skills, situational awareness and gear discussions are as relevant to a paraplegic diver as they are to other divers.

PM me if you want the names and contact information for the gentleman who taught my class.

It occurs to me that one of the reasons you cited in defense of your poor skills (crashing into coral, silting out bottoms, losing buddy) is that you don't have enough time to practice.

How much time do you waste here? Wouldn't that time be better spent learning how to avoid killing coral or endangering anyone silly enough to dive with you?

I thought he was that now unemployed sock puppet from Pets.com? As to who's hand he is sitting on, well, that remains to be seen...
