Drilled out faces off and dived in amazing conditions.

It was a glorious weekend, despite the Avalon "Buffalo Stroll."

This took place over the weekend on Sunday, Feb. 19th. I was not there, but heard that it was a little chilly topside.

I was out there for my current non-GUE course, and it was cold in the water too. Of course, I was diving wet and not moving very much.

And I hear we have a few new DIRF-certified divers in SoCal!

shhhhh... I think our Official 30-Day Quarantine is NOW in effect. (Thanks, Ray, you're too nice!

It was cold everywhere, including the Hermosa Hotel!! Sunday morning I had to get out of the room and out into the SUN to warm up... slightly... right before the sky turned black and the deluge poured down for a roaring 30 minutes!!

The only time I was warm this weekend was when I was underwater... in my DRYsuit!! It was the only way to get out of the WIND . 49F out on the tarmac, and colder in the shade... brrrrrr.

Underwater, it was beautiful turquoise water, golden kelp, and flocks of blacksmiths finning through the canopy. There were actually several moments when I dared take my eyes off my teammates, and my instructors, and my gauges and my spools, and my lift bag, and, and, and..... and remembered that I'm doing this because I love diving so passionately.

Wow... what a world! What a skill-set! Wow!

Well then... I guess congrats are in order!

We'll need to begin the celebration on this weekend's Mo2vation Boat Dive and keep celebrating right though the Wrinkles Dive Weekend on Catalina!
