Dion Anderson was a diver from South Australia (SA) who took his own life at the age of 19 on Christmas Day last year. The news of this event was both shocking and sad to those who knew Dion. Dion is missed by his many friends throughout the diving community in SA and other places. An obituary is now available and can be read on page 3 of Reef Watcher Issue 16.1 April 2013 (refer http://www.conservationsa.org.au/files/marine/reefwatcher/ReefWatcher_issue_16_1_April_2013.pdf ). If one walks down to the end of Port Noarlunga Jetty today, one will see a number of messages written on the decking (presumably by Dion's classmates from Reynella East High School) in Dion's memory.

R.I.P.

P.S. P.S. Port Noarlunga is a very popular dive site in Adelaide, SA. 'Jetty' is the word used locally for piers & similar structures

How sad, so young and on Christmas too. R.I.P.

A group of divers celebrated Dion's life last weekend, diving on one of his favourite local wrecks, in his memory.

The below footage is of the dive gathering.

Dion contributed to dive forums and had a real passion for diving, the marine environment and marine diversity.
