I am looking to replace my console with a single
pressure gauge. I am considering a digital gauge
because of the extra features (alarm, logbook,
backlighting, config. units) and because the cost
difference with a good analogue one is not that
big. I found two models: the Aqualung EPG and
the Uwatec digital pressure gauge.
Does anybody has experience with these units?

Txs,

Jourik

I have the Uwatec model. It does not have all of the doodads that the Aqualung has. It will tell you pressure going in, pressure coming out, differential, temp, has two alarms and that is about it. It is also the size of an anolog pressure gauge where the Aqualung is bigger. I picked mine up because my normal dive buddy hasn't caught on that imperial units are the way to go and all of his gauges are metric. I set pressure to metric when I dive with him and go back to imperial when I dive with anyone else. I have had mine for a couple of months now and I don't have any complaints. I do take an analog pressure gauge with me just in case.

I picked mine up from Diveinn.

I am considering one of these instruments for the
same reason: switch easily between metric and
imperial. I am used to both, but it is much easier
if everybody of the group is on the same system,
especially when diving on thirds.
Featurewise, the Aqualung looks more interesting,
but it is bigger and I am afraid the backlight might
turn on a lot accidentally (I will be clipping the gauge
of my left hip d-ring). Probably I will go for the
Uwatec.
Does it come with the hp hose included? I will order
it too from Diveinn and can't tell from the foto and
description on their website.
Everybody considers analogue instruments more reliable
than electronic ones. However, last weekend,
my analogue depth gauge (backup) got stuck at my
maximum diving depth. They do fail too.

J.

I thought the Uwatec from DiveInn was metric only? If you can switch to imperial, I will also be buying one!

Any updates on this unit?

The Uwatec bottom timer from Dive Inn is only available in metric. The pressure gauge is switchable: psi/F, psi/C, bar/F, bar/C. At least the one I have is if they have changed.

Still happy with it.

If you want even more functions (eg. computer), consider the Suunto Cobra, you can also get a quick disconnect for it.
