different octo and primery

It happened that i own an apeks atx40 octo and needed to buy a primary one, but an original apeks is 200$ more expensive than mk16/550 SP one, so i wonder if i experience any problem with this setup.

I'm not sure if you are asking whether the particular reg/octo combo is ok, or whether having an octo that is different than your primary is ill advised.

If the latter, my octo is different than my primary, but easily found, tested before each dive, etc., and works just fine.
