Did US Diver's buy Apeks?

Is this real or BS?

Also, are the Zeagle regs the same as the Apeks regs, and if so, how do they compare in price?

I heard these both from the same guy, so I'm trying to catch the truth.

Air Liquide is the owner of several dive gear mfgs....

Great! Thanks for the link. I was worried that Apeks actually fell under US Diver's. I was getting a little worried about R&D. Kind of like Chrysler buying Lamborghini. Actually, Chrysler is a good company, so that's not a good comparison.

What about the similarities between Zeagle and Apeks? Anyone have an answer to this?

If you do a search, you will find this has been covered many times. However, for your info, Zeagle used to distribute Apeks regs (and put Zeagle name on them, but they were Apeks regs) and then Seaquest distributed them, and the Aqualung and Seaquest merged, and then Aqualung took over distributing them. Air Liquide owns these companies.

Zeagle has since made their own regs, which is very similar in design to the Apeks, however, uses different parts, and NOT manufactured by Apeks. They are good regs, but I personally dont like them. I prefer the Apeks.

I did a search on Apeks and Zeagle. I found hundreds of Apeks posts. The search engine for this board is limited in it can't read my mind. I couldn't even do a search on US Divers since US isn't considered a word to this search engine.

I didn't feel like reading through hundreds of posts to find a simple one word answer, yes or no.

What was covered in other posts is what you answered and what I didn't ask - your preference on Zeagle regs.

Well, for me, its mostly the looks of them, and the purge cover. I dont like either. Also, they had a problem a while back with second stage housings being flimsy, and the plastic would crack. It just seems to me that they tried to make a cheap knock off of the Apeks. Well, they succeeded. The materials are cheap and flimsy, and I dont like the looks of them as much as the Apeks. Now, maybe they have changed the plastics they are using in the 2nd stage housing (I hope so). Also, the first stages look like a hunk of metal, and they are not shaped quite as nicely as the Apeks 1st's. Its mostly cosmetic for me (with the exception of the 2nd stg housing).

BTW, US Divers is now called Aqualung. Been that way for a few years.

Well there you go
Thanks I will send your comments to Jim at Zeagle; I do know that your concerns where addressed a long time ago.
By the way I am the Product Manager of Zeagle for the Asia Pacific Region,
