Destin trip report for the first weekend in August

Have you tried touching them with a bare hand? Would suggest you use a hand you will not need for a while.

Would love to do a night dive there..

You can consistently find torpedo rays on night dives at Ft. Pickens. The one time I dove the Whiskey Wreck, there were a half-dozen or so there too.

I probably had less than 25 dives the first time I saw one, but I knew enough already to keep my hands to myself I do wonder how it compares to a shark shield though. I routinely get my fillings melted by one of those terrible devices.....

Would love to do a night dive there..

Do you have any guitarfish photos? I routinely see one there, usually in the 3 1/2 foot range. Barry got to take some squid photos there the other night, and there's always an octopus out hunting among the rocks. Plus, no walk of death!

Ah, the walk of death. I still remember doing a jetties dive in early summer, when the water was still very cold...in a dry suit, in around 90 degrees. By the time I got back, my suit was up to the knees in liquid, and the suit does not leak. I was sweating so bad...never doing that again.

Don't have any guitarfish.. on my list of things to get though... and some of the blenny's that live close to shore.

Well, the jolt is designed to paralyze (after the pain). I got the use of my arm back after just under an hour. Sucked making a surf exit with only one arm. I remember pain, not seeing anything and then an arm that did not work.

Ever wonder what those two little arms are around the eyes of an arrowhead crab? Well they sort of look like brushes.. but I still don't know what they do
