Mikey Paul is coming in this weekend from college, I'm going to try to persuade him to dive - not sure where - but we may see you at the jetties :)
It looks like I might not get off next week after all. I may have to squeeze a dive in on Saturday if I get one at all.

Doug,

The jetties are usually a lot better than this. The only thing that gets this bad is what we call June grass. It is a slimy sea-weed that makes the water look like snot (literally). It can come in as early as May and stay until August. Last year wasn't bad at all. You just never know. The sand dredgers are out and I can't tell if they are having any affect because of all the tannins in the water. Hurricane Ivan stirred up a lot of stuff in the gulf so it's easier for storms to get things churned up too. I'm looking forward to things clearing up and getting back to normal!

Stone:
I dove the Angelina and Deborah (18 miles from the Pass) on 19 April. Viz was about 30 ft in the first half of the water column, but the vis improved to 50 ft on the wrecks.

The viz on the Janet (10 miles from the Pass) was about 20 ft.
Thanks for the off-shore update. Sounds like things are settling down a little.
