Destin Diving

We are coming to Destin next year for a family reunion vacation in May. I am thinking I need to slip out a day or two to go diving. Most of the diving I have done has been in the Carribean, mostly Cozumel. I have been going through old posts on here and tripadvisor and have found mixed feelings on the diving in the Destin area. I have found a few ops in Destin, most commonly mentioned was ScubaTech, any opinions on them? Or should I maybe just look at doing some rec diving in Pensacola and just go one time?

I dive Caribbean and Indo-Pacific mostly, and to me, the one day of diving I did out of Destin (because I happened to be there for something else) was like looking at the surface of the moon. From my perspective, a total waste of money. An interesting wreck would be a different story, of course.

You should check out the Gulf Coast Dive Society Facebook group. There is a much better level of communication there. Your chances of finding buddies there will be GREATLY increased. There is usually ALWAYS SOMEONE diving Destin, as well as all the other dive locations around.
