In Belize, the insanity is very British.

In Honduras, it is a National obsession.

The question was about departure tax and I was pretty sure they were the same. Wasn't trying to compare airports.

There is also a 5 dollar "inspection" thing going on there now. Now no one charged me for it and my bags were inspected with a fine tooth comb. My buddy a few people behind me in line holds up a 20 dollar bill and says loudly "can anyone help me get through this quickly" and of course his bags don't get inspected and he goes to the front of the line.

Maybe that's the inspection tax?

Was I really that loud? I'd have paid $50, they should have held out. :wink:
 
There's a LOT to be said for baksheesh, and not too much of it needs to be negative.
