There is a very rare Demone two hose reg on ebay if someone is looking one one. The seller has been offered a $1,000 already from some joker claiming to be from the scuba museum in france. It would be nice to see it stay in the U.S. instead of france or south america or wherever.

and many days to bid..

Who would have ever guessed this very radical regulator which was never accepted in to the main stream of American diving would be in such demand?

According to Fred Roberts, in Basic Scuba, this regulator's description is below:

Demone Mark II

Two Hose (Modified Single Hose): Two Stage: High Pressure Stage--Diaphragm Type, Ball Seat; Demand Stage--Dual Pilot Operated Upstream Tilt Valves.

Absolutely correct!

The "Ball Seat" came from the space program and was one of the weak points of the regulator. In order to replace the ball seat required freezing for a period of time ( I recall 24 hours) prior to reseating. Very few dive shops or dive operators during that period had freezers as a standard piece of equipment.

The tilt valves were just that tilt valves that blasted air from two directions directly into the mouth.

The best component of the Demone was the tilted valve. However, it never caught on.

Very intersting peice of junk,

The regulator was made in the 1960s -was never popular. Now it is a "collectors item" and demands a lot of money.
As Mike says will probably reach at least $1000.00 US dollars.

Check out his other items as well. He's got some other neat stuff for sale too.
