Might as well be venomous, and toxic to eat and really bad manners ta-boot. Yikes!
It has poisonous spines and no known predators.

So is it in the Stone Fish family??? I don't recall those barbells on a stonefish... or do I?
It's a close family member of the Stone fish.
Order is: Scorpaeniformes which includes Stone fishes and Scorpion fishes. We saw one in the Philippines. They don't move at all - just sit on the sand and look up. Even if disturbed they seldom budge.
